Myofascial Stretching - Chicago

This specific type of myofascial stretching is active and acting on the fascia that runs throughout your body. MFS allows you to feel better and also improve your athletic performance. It is great after all types of sport activities and aids in tissue regeneration. The health of the fascia regulates nutrient delivery and the removal of toxins as well as the mechanical performance of the muscle. In this course you will learn how to isolate individual segments of the fascia relating to specific muscles aiding in the rejuvenation of the needed muscles and creating balance throughout the fascial system.

More in depth...

FASCIA is a layer of fibrous tissue that permeates the human body. It's a connective tissue that surrounds muscles, groups of muscles, blood vessels, and nerves, binding these structures together. It consists of several layers and extends uninterrupted from the head to the tip of the toes.

Myofascial stretching is the stretching of a muscular chain within a fascial chain. The ultimate goal is not to gain flexibility but freedom at the level of the articulation. Also it has a very important role in the quality of posture since kinesthetic information is carried in the fascia.
